Singapore Prime Minister Mr. Lawrence Wong | MusicCloth ISCA building with The Eagle cassette tapes

In June 2023, we received a custom request from Institue of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) to design a special gift to their guest of -honour Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for finance -- Mr. Lawrence Wong.

They were intrigued to design a MusicCloth ISCA building for this special gift to Mr. Lawrence Wong. We knew that Singapore Prime Minister Mr. Lawrence Wong has a lifelong passion for music, particularly playing the guitar for over 40 years, after receiving his first guitar as a birthday gift from his late father. And he favors rock, blues, and jazz music genre through his Spotify playlist.

We started with the search of discussing which cassette tapes to use for weaving Mr. Lawrence Wong's MusicCloth, the process was about a week and we finally found The Eagles cassette tapes. We think that this could be a perfect match to Mr. Lawrence Wong. The Eagles are highly regarded by musicians for their intricate, multi-layered guitar arrangements, acoustic-electric blending, and iconic solos (like the legendary duel at the end of "Hotel California") Looking at the song name of their Side A and Side B, we found it interesting as the title of the song name was also align with what we want to express to Mr. Lawrence Wong as a Singapore citizen.

Side A

Take it easy

Witchy woman

Peaceful easy feeling

Desperado

Tequila sunrise

The best of love my love

James Dean

I can’t tell you why

.

Side B

Lyin’ eyes

Take it to the limit

One of these night

Hotel California

New kid in town

Life in the fast lane

Heartache tonight

The long run
